Fruits and Vegetables
Glacier Valley has received a grant to distribute a daily fruit and vegetable snack to students for the 2012 - 2013 school year. We hope that GV students will learn how to eat better and will discover new foods that they can enjoy throughout their lives. Students can bring their own snack or enjoy the one we provide.
Water Water Water
Recent studies say that students need more water for their brains to work. Hydration is key to student success. So, this month our class is experimenting with having water-bottles full-time on our desks. With better water access, we are hoping for better learning.

Kaaaa-rat-ay Chop Those Sentences
As we've worked on learning sentence structure, we've had a special guest at school to help us. Mr. Sensei loves to chop sentences into their Subject (noun - Who? or What?) and Predicate (verb ~ What happened?) This is an important concept to help students learn how to identify complete sentences and place proper punctuation. Mr. Sensei was a surprising motivator for helping students understand this complex concept. Ask your child to karate chop a sentence for you at home.
