This week we learned about genre (types of books). As you child reads their books at home, see if they can identify which genre it fits into.
We focused on the following:
Fiction: Story has elements that are untrue.
Non-Fiction: Based on factual
Traditional Fiction: Passed down orally
Fantasy: Unrealistic or Unworldly
Science Fiction: Fantasy book based on science
Realistic Fiction: Story could happen but was made-up by writer
Historical Fiction: Fiction based on a historical event.
Informational: Gives information
Biography: A story about a person
Autobiography: A story about a person written by the person themselves.
